As soon as you arrive, you will be welcomed by the owners, Nikolaos Sgourdos (an internist in Tripolis) and his spouse, Christina Plataniti (a notary -she is an Alonistenian, born and bred). They transformed their love for the village into the hotel – something they had been dreaming of for years! Christina makes the breakfast cakes and pies herself, all being natural. For all the treats offered at the hotel, Christina chooses the ingredients herself.

Their children, Elena and Georgios, have both contributed to making the hotel a reality and look after it whenever they come home from their temporary residency in Switzerland. Georgios is the website creator and Elena made its adaptation for English speakers.

The hotel is named after the unforgettable Dimitrios Platanitis and his wife, Georgia. They experienced hard times in Alonistena and worked as cheese makers. Their life could be encapsulated in these words: tireless work, honesty and love. We can only feel proud of them. Georgia, a few years before she passed away, encouraged us to create a small hotel in Alonistena. As you see, we took her suggestion very seriously.
